Stapenhill means ‘steep hill’ in old Anglo Saxon.
Historically, the locality was well regarded by the Anglo Saxons.
It functioned as their graveyard.
Consequently, it is a place with ghostly potential.
We began research after stories of vampires and witches in this small village.
This included asking a psychic to undertake a psychic walk with me prior to writing the script. Nevertheless, it was to be a shock, because I knew that Stapenhill was very haunted. I did not realise how much.
As well, the ghost legend of Alice Goodridge (the Stapenhill witch) was discussed on the Burton ghost walk. The legendary Drakelow vampire rests in Stapenhill, according to local legend. There are many more spirits in this location. Additionally, a ghost ship, the blue lady, and a sad Victorian girl reside here.

During the research into the walk, the aim was not only to find many ghosts but also to uncover stories.

A haunted pub which included a secret sealed room and one of the greatest mysteries of all time and antiquity, the Shapiro scroll which is said to hold the 11th commandment of God.

Booking the Ghost walk
The Ghost Walk in Stapenhill lasts an hour, from 7 pm to 8 pm, on 11th of September.
it costs £10.
It starts at the bandstand at Stapenhill Gardens.
It is outdoors, so please wear appropriate apparel.
The route is on all paths but includes a small incline.
It is suitable for wheelchair users.
